Target Just Turned 600+ Stores Into a K-Beauty Destination

Target quietly rebuilt its entire beauty department this month, and if you walked into one of the more than 600 stores that got the new Target Beauty Studio treatment on September 10, you would have noticed the K-beauty section is not an afterthought anymore. It is basically the point.
What is actually on the shelves
The rollout brings in over 1,600 products from 90 brands, most of them landing at Target for the very first time. K-beauty makeup label Kaja gets serious real estate, alongside Amuse and Rom&nd, three names that spent years living almost exclusively in Olive Young hauls and niche online shops before this. The rest of the lineup spans Italian skincare brand Borghese, Japanese hair care line &Honey and a hydration line from Kylie Jenner called K2o, so this is not a K-beauty exclusive drop, more like K-beauty finally getting a seat at the same table as the bigger names.
Why a Target rollout actually matters
K-beauty breaking into mainstream American retail is not new on its own, Olive Young Global ships worldwide and plenty of K-beauty staples already sit on Ulta and Sephora shelves. What is different here is the scale and the framing. This is not a beauty retailer carving out a K-beauty section, it is Target, a store most people visit weekly for groceries and home goods, treating K-beauty as one of its core trend categories rather than a niche add-on.
When guests shop for beauty, they want to pick up their standbys while also exploring what's new and trending, and Target Beauty Studio is designed with that mix in mind.
That quote comes from Amanda Nusz, Target's senior vice president of merchandising, and it is a pretty accurate read on what K-beauty shopping has become. People are not choosing between their go to Korean serum and their usual drugstore pick anymore, they want both available in the same aisle, and Target just bet that enough of its shoppers feel the same way to justify a 90 brand overhaul.
How to actually shop it
The new format comes with in-store Beauty Advisors for anyone who wants a real recommendation instead of guessing off packaging, plus Target Circle member offers layered on top for people already in that loyalty program. Everything is available online as well as in-store, so nobody without one of the 600 plus locations nearby has to miss out entirely.
For anyone who already shops the KBeauty Codes board regularly, this is genuinely good news even if you never set foot in a Target. Wider mainstream shelf space for Kaja, Amuse and Rom&nd means more brand awareness, more price competition and more reason for these companies to keep investing in the US market long term. It also does not change the math on where the best deal actually lives. A referral or promo code from YesStyle, Stylevana, Olive Young Global or StyleKorean is still going to beat a full price Target checkout most days of the week, so treat a Target trip as a place to test a formula in person before ordering the full size somewhere your code actually works.
