LANEIGE Teams Up With Matin Kim for a Lip Tint That Changes Color on Your Skin

LANEIGE has launched a limited collaboration with Seoul fashion label Matin Kim, and the piece everyone is talking about is a JuicePop Box Lip Tint in a brand new shade called Mono Tune. It looks like black gloss sitting in the tube, then shifts to a personalized plum pink once it meets your own lip pH. The set started rolling out online on September 1, with LANEIGE boutiques, Sephora and Shopee carrying it across different markets, and pricing lands somewhere between about 24 and 28 dollars depending on where you buy it.

What the Mono Tune set actually includes

The lip tint itself comes in LANEIGE's familiar JuicePop Box tube, but this version is dressed head to toe in Matin Kim's signature all black styling, right down to the typography on the box. The set adds a small mirror keyring and a metal chain strap so the tint can clip onto a bag strap or a belt loop instead of getting lost at the bottom of a tote. It is a small detail, but it is also the whole point of the collaboration: skincare and makeup styled like an accessory rather than a product sitting flat on a bathroom shelf.

Matin Kim is a Seoul based label known for minimal silhouettes and hardware heavy bags, and the brand has leaned on that same language here. Nothing about the packaging screams skincare in the usual soft, pastel way K-beauty collabs tend to go. It reads closer to a fashion drop, which is clearly the idea behind the collection's stated concept, described by the two brands as turning your skin into part of your outfit.

The rest of the LANEIGE x Matin Kim lineup

Mono Tune is not the only piece. The collaboration also covers a NEO Essential Blurring Finish Powder built around Blue Hyaluronic Acid for a soft matte finish, which comes bundled with a limited edition makeup pouch. There is a NEO Cushion in the Mewy finish, priced around 73 dollars and available in shades 21W and 23N, and a Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Moisture Cream. Both of those come with a convertible duffle bag as a gift with purchase while stock lasts.

Availability has been rolling out market by market rather than all at once. In Singapore, the collection went live on September 1 through Shopee, Sephora and two LANEIGE boutiques, with Sephora Takashimaya following on September 30. In Japan, Qoo10 opened preorders in late August ahead of a September 1 sale start on Qoo10 and Amazon. Reporting out of Malaysia has pointed to a Korea launch following on October 1, though as with any limited collab, exact timing and restocks can vary by store, so it is worth checking a retailer's page directly before counting on a specific date.

Is a color changing lip tint actually new for LANEIGE

Not entirely. Lip products that react to pH and shift shade on contact have been a recurring format in Korean beauty for years, which is part of why the format itself will feel familiar even if this exact shade is new. What LANEIGE is pointing to here is the formula underneath it, something the brand calls Water-Oil Remix Technology, paired with ceramides and built to hold color and comfort for up to twelve hours without the usual drying feeling some long wear tints leave behind.

LANEIGE has also cited an in-house test of 32 women that found a 32 percent increase in lip hydration after a single use, which is the kind of number worth noting if you have tried color changing tints before and found them more about the gimmick than the actual wear. As with any brand reported test, it reflects LANEIGE's own study rather than independent clinical data, so treat it as a claim to weigh rather than a guarantee.

Because this is a limited run tied to the Matin Kim name, stock is expected to move faster than LANEIGE's standard JuicePop Box shades, which stay in regular rotation. If Mono Tune or the rest of the collection is on your list, the safest bet is checking directly with Sephora, Shopee or a LANEIGE boutique near you rather than waiting, since collaborations like this one tend to sell through their limited packaging well before the core lip tint line does.
