Olive Young's own K-Beauty Edit, a selection of Korean skincare brands handpicked by the retailer itself, is now sitting inside 48 Sephora stores across Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. The rollout is CJ Olive Young's first major Southeast Asian push under its Sephora partnership, and it follows a US debut in August where daily sales of the featured brands reportedly doubled within a month.

The store count breaks down as 8 locations in Hong Kong, 18 in Malaysia, 9 in Singapore and 13 in Thailand, plus each market's Sephora website. Every country gets its own edit, with 12 to 17 Korean brands and roughly 120 products apiece, so the exact lineup in Bangkok will look a little different from the one in Kuala Lumpur.

What's actually on the shelves

Brands confirmed across the four markets include Dr. Althea, ma:nyo, make p:rem, BIOHEAL BOH, beplain and celimax, with REJURAN Cosmetics, HEVEBLUE and Cell Fusion C also part of the wider rotation. Olive Young says the picks lean toward skincare built for hot, humid weather and strong UV exposure, think cleansers, lightweight serums and creams rather than heavy occlusive balms.

The products are grouped into four concern based categories that show up consistently across the markets: Slow-Aging, Barrier-Support, Pores and Blemishes, and Hydration. That's the same structure Olive Young uses in its own Korean stores, now exported wholesale into Sephora's shelving and signage.

Singapore got the splashiest activation so far, a pop-up at ION Orchard's B4 level that ran from October 8 to 14. It featured 8 brands and 24 products split across those same four stations, with a self-guided skin assessment, an in-person SKIN SCAN option, mission-based card activities at each table and a sampling area shoppers called the Gift Zone, stocked with deluxe sized freebies and a Sephora voucher.

How this fits the bigger Sephora rollout

Olive Young and Sephora signed their partnership in January, with the K-Beauty Edit first appearing on Sephora's US shelves in August across what has since grown to more than 580 stores and Sephora.com. By the end of September, Olive Young said average daily sales of participating brands there, including Rejuran, Arencia and Torriden, had roughly doubled compared with August, though that figure comes from the company itself rather than an independent audit.

Olive Young has said it plans to bring the K-Beauty Edit to Sephora stores in Canada, Australia, the UK and the Middle East sometime in 2027, without giving exact dates or store counts yet. For now, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand are the only markets outside North America carrying the curation.

The collaboration is expanding opportunities for promising domestic K-beauty brands to enter major global retail channels.

That line, from an unnamed CJ Olive Young Corporation representative, sums up the strategy here. Olive Young built its reputation as the gatekeeper deciding which Korean indie brands get real shelf space back home, and this expansion is essentially that same curation function, now applied inside one of the biggest beauty retailers in the world.

Why it matters if you shop K-beauty outside Korea

For readers who already shop Olive Young Global, this doesn't change pricing or shipping on the Global site itself. What it does signal is which smaller Korean brands are being positioned for a bigger international audience next, since a Sephora slot tends to come with a sales bump and wider name recognition. Beplain and celimax in particular have built loyal but fairly niche followings online, and a physical Sephora presence in four new countries is a meaningful jump in visibility for both.

Olive Young also framed the move around ASEAN's demographics, noting the region has roughly 700 million people, over a third of them between 15 and 34, and that Singapore and Thailand were already among the top countries sending tourists through Olive Young's physical stores in Korea this year. In other words, this isn't a cold launch into unfamiliar territory, it's Olive Young following shoppers who were already crossing borders to buy from them.

If the Canada, UK, Australia and Middle East expansion lands on schedule in 2027, the K-Beauty Edit will effectively give Olive Young's in-house curation a presence on nearly every continent Sephora operates in. Until then, keep an eye on which brands keep reappearing across these market launches since that's usually the clearest early signal of who Olive Young is betting on next.
